Chelsea have confirmed the signing of midfielder Oriane Jean-Francois from Paris Saint-Germain.
Having spent the early years of her professional career in her native France, the 22-year-old makes the move to London ahead of the 2024/25 season and has penned a three-year contract with the Blues, plus a one-year option.
Jean-Francois is a dynamic and versatile central midfield player who can play at the base of the midfield or as a box-to-box midfielder. She has racked up an impressive total of 93 senior matches in her career to date.
On becoming a Chelsea player, Jean-Francois said: “It is a good moment for my career and the player I want to be. I’m very happy to sign here and I’m excited to start my journey.”
General manager Paul Green added: ‘Oriane is a young, athletic defensive midfielder with good experience for her age. She has shown a great attitude and we are looking forward to seeing how she takes the next steps in her career whilst at the club.”
Jean-Francois signed her first professional contract with Paris FC where she made her first-team debut just before her 18th birthday. In the summer of 2022, Jean-Francois moved to PSG where she has spent the last two seasons.
