Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes were among the teammates to send messages to Kai Havertz and his new wife Sophia after the couple’s wedding over the weekend.

The forward used his extended break due to his involvement in Germany’s Euro 2024 squad for the wedding. Havertz will join the squad over in America for the pre-season tour on Thursday, 25 July, where he will be joined by Gabriel and Gabriel Martinelli.

Declan Rice, Aaron Ramsdale, Bukayo Saka, David Raya, and William Saliba will re-join the squad upon their return from America. The five players were involved in the latter stages of the tournament and therefore have been given extra time off.

But, despite some still being away from training, Arsenal players’ response to Havertz’s wedding on social media shows the closeness of the group.

Sophia posted four photos from the day on Instagram, including Havertz in the post, so it was shared on his profile, with a caption reading: “18.07.24 – forever.” That prompted several messages from teammates past and present.

Arsenal captain Odegaard replied with a praising hands and heart eyes emoji, while Gabriel wrote “Congratulations my bro,” along with a heart eyes emoji and a red heart emoji. The duo weren’t the only Arsenal players to send their congratulations.

Oleksandr Zinchenko wrote: “Congratulations”, Declan Rice replied with “Congratulations my brother.” Thomas Partey also wrote: “Congratulations.”

Among those to send messages were several of Havertz’s former Chelsea teammates. Antonio Rudiger, Mason Mount, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Ben Chilwell all sent messages of congratulations in the comments section of the post.
