Arsenal beat Manchester United 2-1 in normal time as their pre-season tour of the United States continues.
The Gunners fell behind early on when Rasmus Hojlund seized on to Marcus Rashford’s ball over the top and raced away from Ayden Heaven. His near post shot then went past Karl Hein. They were back level not too long after though. Gabriel Jesus tapped home Ethan Nwaneri’s cross despite a hint of offside in the build up to the goal.
As is often the case in pre-season though, the second half momentum was completely stunted by a raft of subs. There was time for one moment of quality from Gabriel Martinelli, whose near post shot beat Andre Onana. Here’s how football.london rated the Arsenal players individually in the game.
Karl Hein: Barley tested in the second half. Some decent distribution when needed though. 6.
Ben White: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
Jurrien Timber: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
Jakub Kiwior: Looked solid at left centre back after coming before again looking decent on the right. Interesting that he wasn’t involved from the start though. 6.

Oleksandr Zinchenko: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
Jorginho: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
Salah-Eddine Oulad M’Hand: Looks decent yet again in the midfield role after coming on at half time. His future may not lie with Arsenal but he’s going to be a top player somewhere if he can stay fit. 7.
Martin Odegaard: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
Reiss Nelson: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
Gabriel Jesus: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
Leandro Trossard: Came off too early to get a rating. n/a.
SUBSTITUTES –
Josh Nichols: Gets forward well from right back and occupied central areas well when required. Did decently in his defensive duties too. 7.
Gabriel: You can see what a leader he is in the squad, the second he comes on the pitch. Ordering everyone around, setting the tempo and conducting the back line. 6.
Myles Lewis-Skelly: Another decent display at left back from the 17-year-old. Inverts from that position really well. 6.
Thomas Partey: Some decent touches at the base of the midfield. Robust in the tackle. Looked more accomplished than he did against Bournemouth. 6.
Fabio Vieira: Used on the right wing once again which was interesting. Probably the most noteworthy part of a quiet performance. 6.
Kai Havertz: Played in the right eight role and added something different for Arsenal as an option in attack. Nearly scored a goal on his return. 6.
Gabriel Martinelli: Even though there was poor defending for the goal his finish was nice. A sign of what he can do when he’s at his direct best on the left. 7.
Eddie Nketiah: Hardly touched the ball after coming on. 6.
