A 46-year-old man was stabbed in the arm on the main street of Leyton over the weekend. He was attacked outside the BP garage on Leyton High Road just after 4pm on Sunday, May 11.
Paramedics treated him at the scene before taking him to hospital with non-life-threatening or life-changing injuries. A large police cordon was in place on the High Road and outside Leyton Midland Road Overground station for multiple hours after.
Aldrin Tomlinson, of Cassiobury Road in Walthamstow has since been charged with wounding with intent and threats to kill. The 54-year-old is due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court today (May 14).
Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact police on 101, stating reference number 4750/11MAY. Anonymous reports can also be made to Crimestoppers via 0800 555 111.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At 16:06hrs on Sunday, 11 May police and the London Ambulance Service responded to reports of a stabbing on Leyton High Road. A 46-year-old man was taken to hospital.
“His injuries were deemed non-life-threatening and non-life-changing. The road was closed in both directions and has since been reopened.”
