Victor Osimhen has fired an emotional message after scoring in the game that won Galatasaray a third consecutive Turkish league title. Just a few days on from triumphing in a cup final, Osimhen and his teammates won another game 3-0 to secure a trophy with Osimhen on target in both.

The Nigeria international has now scored 36 goals from 40 appearances in all competitions this season and with 24 of those in the Super League, he is likely to also win the golden boot.

Despite his success, the 2024/25 season has probably not gone how he expected it to around this time last year. With an exit from Napoli wanted by both club and player, he seemingly had his eyes set on a move to another European titan.

No marquee move materialised however, with Osimhen somewhat forced to join Galatasaray after Chelsea failed to agree terms for a loan move. The 26-year-old will return to Naples in just a few weeks and this time, a permanent exit appears likely.

Links to Stamford Bridge went cold during the current campaign but have picked up in recent weeks especially as Chelsea are likely to be without a striker on the first day of next season as Nicolas Jackson is suspended.

Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Tyrique George have all been deployed up top in his absence but none are natural No.9s and it has shown. Not only would Osimhen give them a fresh option but he would also add needed experience to a young group.

Juventus have also shown an interest in the striker but reports in Italy suggest a move to a direct rival is something Napoli would want to avoid.

It is far more likely head coach Antonio Conte, assuming Osimhen is still not in his plans, would want him joining his former club. Galatasaray are also said to be dreaming of having Osimhen next season and though that is highly unlikely, it looks as though they have done all they can to convincing it is worth returning.

Following the full-time whistle, Osimhen sent a heartfelt message alongside numerous photos from their celebrations and a clip of his daughter announcing his goal to the stadium.

As the caption, he wrote: “What more can I say, WE ARE THE BEST! @galatasaray [five star emojis] GOD IS THE GREATEST [100 emoji].”

Osimhen is likely to feature on Chelsea’s shortlist of potential striker signings alongside the likes of Liam Delap, Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike.
