Thomas Tuchel doubles down on Arsenal decision for England amid Mikel Arteta’s one hope
Arsenal trio Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly have all been called up by Thomas Tuchel for the latest England squad.
The Three Lions continue their journey with new head coach Thomas Tuchel as they face Andorra and Senegal in a World Cup qualifier and friendly respectively.
This is the first time since his return from injury that Saka will feature for England, and therefore his first experience working with Tuchel. The attacker missed the last squad while still recovering from a hamstring injury and there was certainly a lack of quality on the England right as a result.
Rice has been a critical part of the side and is considered, as with Arsenal, one of the leaders of the group, having worn the armband now for his country too.
He has also taken Lewis-Skelly under his wing as the pair have formed a strong friendship since the 18-year-old’s break into the senior set up.
Lewis-Skelly was something of a surprise inclusion last time around, but did not wait long to make an impact, scoring on his senior England debut and joining a very exclusive club. A club with even fewer members when considering his age and position.
