Two men have been charged with murder after a four-year-old boy was killed in a crash. Police were called to New Barn Road in Dartford shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday, June 1 to reports of a smash involving two grey Ford Rangers.
The boy later died in hospital, while a 24-year-old man is still in a critical condition. A one-year-old girl also suffered minor injuries.
A day later police arrested Patrick Maughan, 53 and Owen Maughan, 27, both from Hill Rise, Darenth, in connection with the incident. The pair were charged on Wednesday, June 4 with the murder of a four-year-old boy grievous bodily harm with intent and attempted wounding with intent relating to the two people injured.
They will appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court today.
