The first mini transfer window of the summer is now open, meaning Arsenal and their rivals can officially do business ahead of the new Premier League season.

Clubs have until June 10 to get the first bits of business done, before the window closes again. However, it will re-open six days later and it will then remain open until the deadline on September 1 (7pm).

Arsenal have already been linked with a lot of potential incomings and outgoings as they look ahead to the 2025/26 season. The priority for Mikel Arteta will most likely be a striker.

The Gunners were without a recognised centre-forward for the final few months of the season due to injury to both Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. Bringing in a new goalscorer is one of the tasks on the to-do list.

It could be a busy summer for Arsenal. So, we have taken a look at some of the latest transfer news and rumours, and also given our own thoughts on the situation.

‘Secret meeting’ revealed

Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has held a ‘secret meeting’ with Red Bull Leipzig counterpart Marcel Schafer in London to discuss a potential transfer for striker Benjamin Sesko, according to Sky Sports .

The forward has a release clause which is variable based on appearances and goals. It is said that it has reached as high as £69 million. It is claimed that the meeting included discussions over payment structures of the clause.

Sesko’s current contract with Leipzig runs until 2029, after he extended it this time last year, following interest from Arsenal. However, the German club are willing to let him leave in this window after failing to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

FL says : It’s good to see Arsenal making progress on a striker, and Sesko has been long admired at the Emirates Stadium. His age means that he could also get better, which would be a big attraction to Arsenal.

If they can get a deal done quickly, then it will be a big positive going into the remainder of the window.

Rodrygo transfer stance

Another player Arsenal have been linked with is Real Madrid winger Rodrygo. However, there has been doubt put over a potential deal.

According to Marca, the player has decided to stay at Real Madrid beyond this summer, following the appointment of Xabi Alonso as head coach. It is said that the player himself has told Real chiefs Florentino Perez and Jose Angel Sanchez of his intention to stay at the club.

It is added that no offers have been received for the 24-year-old, but Real Madrdi themselves still need convincing of his place at the club.

FL says : The change in manager at the Bernabau was always going to bring up the possibility of players being given more of a chance at the club and wanting to stay and prove themselves. While it’s not good news for Arsenal, they may be best to quickly move on to other targets, with Nico Williams a name being mentioned.
