Alexander Isak’s future at Newcastle United continues to be a talking point amid links of a potential transfer to Arsenal.

Isak scored 27 goals in all competitions for Newcastle last season, helping guide the Magpies to qualification for the Champions League.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with signing a new striker for more than a year, with Isak being mentioned as a potential target for the majority of that time.

Arsenal are interested in signing Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, having monitored the striker for the last 12 months. Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres has also been mentioned as a potential target for the Gunners, having scored 54 goals across 52 appearances last term.

When it comes to Isak, a host of clubs have been linked with signing the striker alongside Arsenal. Liverpool have also been mentioned heavily on the rumour mill, as have Barcelona on some occasions.

Reports over the last few days have recently claimed that Liverpool could make a move for Isak this summer. This is despite the Merseyside outfit looking to close a deal for Florian Wirtz, which could go on to be more around £126million if they meet Bayer Leverkusen’s asking price.

Arsenal are looking to sign a striker this summer, but Newcastle’s stance when it comes to Isak has reportedly been that they are not looking to entertain offers for the Sweden international.

There were suggestions earlier in the year that the Magpies would demand a fee close to £150million to consider letting Isak leave St James’ Park. It remains to be seen if that stance has changed since the club qualified for the Champions League, strengthening their position in being able to keep Isak.
