Two pickpockets left a man with a concussion after he stopped an alleged theft at Oxford Circus Tube station last month. The 37-year-old was kicked and punched to the ground when he challenged the two men at around 11.40pm on Thursday, May 22.
He managed to retrieve a wallet he’d seen stolen from a woman near platform four before being attacked. The thieving pair fled the busy station soon after when onlookers came to help.
The good samaritan was left with a minor brain injury and multiple injuries to his face that needed hospital treatment. The British Transport Police has now released images of two men they want to speak to in connection.
The force believes the pair may have information that could assist their enquiries. CCTV footage shows two men with dark hair, facial hair and black jackets.
One is wearing black jeans, with the other wearing blue jeans with what appears to be ripped knees. Anyone who recognises them is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 837 of 22 May 2025.
