Girl, 12, charged after boy, 13, stabbed in Bromley attack and rushed to hospital

A 12-year-old girl has been charged after a 13-year-old boy was stabbed in South London. Met Police officers raced to Downham Way, Bromley, at 5.16pm last Thursday (June 12) to reports of a stabbing.

There police found a 13-year-old boy who was raced to A&E for treatment. His injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing.

A girl, from Lewisham, was arrested and later charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. She was scheduled to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (June 14) and we await an update on what happened at the hearing.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “On Thursday, June 12, at 5.16pm police were called to reports of a stabbing at Downham Way, Bromley. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service who treated a 13-year-old boy at the scene before transporting him to hospital.

“His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. A 12-year-old girl from the Lewisham area was arrested and later charged with wounding with intent and possession of an offensive weapon. She was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, June 14.”

A London Ambulance Service Spokesperson said: “We were called on Thursday, June 12, at 5.08pm to reports of a stabbing in Downham Way, Bromley. We sent an ambulance and treated a teenager before taking him to hospital.”
