Temperatures in London are on the rise with the official start of summer in the UK just days away. It will soar to a sweltering 31C over the weekend making it the perfect time for Londoners to get out in the capital’s plentiful parks and green spaces.
After a warm weekend, the sun will continue to shine throughout the week with temperatures of 27C predicted for tomorrow (Tuesday, June 17). Temperatures will stay around the 27C until the weekend when things are set to heat up even more.
The BBC London forecast says: “Through the extended period, it is expected to be dry and settled with prolonged periods of sunshine as high pressure remains in control over the weather.
“On Wednesday, winds will be light to gentle, but it will become breezier through Thursday and Friday. A warm to very warm period, locally hot on Friday.”
Saturday (June 21) will see temperatures rise to 29C with glorious sunshine and light winds. There will be a continued rise on Sunday (June 22) when temperatures will reach 31C and continue to stay this warm for the rest of the weekend.
After the weekend things will take a slight dip before settling into the mid twenties range for the remainder of the week. Things are expected to remain dry, apart from a slight blip on Thursday (June 26) and Saturday (June 28) when Londoners can expect to see some odd showers.
Met Office London also agrees with the BBC’s predictions that things are set to be warm over the weekend. However, it forecasts a slightly cooler atmosphere, with highs of 30C for Thursday (June 19) and Saturday (June 21).
