Arsenal thanked 20 players departing the club this summer last week before the Premier League published their professional released list.
The league then made all 20 clubs’ submissions public on Monday. Kieran Tierney was among those to feature, with Celtic announcing his return to the Scottish champions a day later.
Jorginho, likewise, has since joined Flamengo after the Gunners reached a mutual agreement with the player to end his contract, allowing him to sign before the Club World Cup. However, several players listed have yet to agree on any deals elsewhere before becoming free agents at the start of July.
Khayon Edwards is seemingly one of those, for the first time, after joining Arsenal at the age of five. The striker signed his first professional contract three years ago amid reported contact from Chelsea, but now departs.
Edwards recently shared a post to his Instagram story from coach Mike Hill. The player appears to be training alongside Maidenhead United striker Ruben Shakpoke, Watford winger Kwadwo Baah and Wigan Athletic midfielder Tobias Brenan.
After adding a picture with the latter to his Instagram story, he shared a screenshot from the notes page on his phone in a post on X, formerly Twitter. “Thank You, Arsenal,” it begins.
“First, I want to thank God for guiding me through everything. To my mum and my family – thank you for the endless support and love. You’ve been with me every step of the way, and I’m forever grateful.
“To the fans, thank you for the love, the messages, the energy and the pride you’ve shown me. I’ve always felt it, and it’s meant the world.
“To the physios, doctors, staff, and everyone working behind the scenes – thank you for keeping me fit, focused and ready. You’re the heartbeat of the club.
“Arsenal has been home, and I’ll carry it with me always. Thank you for everything, Khayon.”
