Randal Kolo Muani has insisted that there is nothing in reports that he has held talks with Chelsea over a potential summer transfer. The France forward is currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain to Juventus.

With Chelsea still in the market for another striker despite adding Liam Delap to their squad, it had been suggested that negotiations with PSG had begun over a move for Kolo Muani. However, the player himself has rubbished those.

Kolo Muani is currently at the Club World Cup with Juventus having moved in January after starting just two of PSG’s first 18 Ligue 1 matches. Since making the switch to Italy he has scored 10 goals from 21 appearances, assisting three.

The FIFA Club World Cup will see 32 of the world’s best club teams including Man City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich play across 63 games from June 14-July 13.

PSG have plenty of attacking cover under Luis Enrique, even though Goncalo Ramos is similarly an outsider to the first XI, leaving a long-term return unlikely. Having cost the Parisiens £84million from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, Kolo Muani is now set for an exit from the Parc des Princes.

Ousmane Dembele has been playing up front since the turn of the year for the Champions League winners and inspired their remarkable mid-season transformation into being Europe’s best. Kolo Muani, meanwhile, has enjoyed a fine time in Turin despite mixed fortunes for the team.

Juventus started the season with Thiago Motta but he was dismissed in March to be replaced by Igor Tudor. With five goals in his first three Serie A games and an assist in his fourth, Kolo Muani started brightly but went on a run of seven league appearances without a contribution.

He finished with three in the final six after being taken out of the side in April. He scored twice in Juventus’ opening Club World Cup group stage fixture as part of a 5-0 win over Al Ain.

This form and long-term interest from Chelsea, who have been linked with him previously, led to the 26-year-old fielding questions on his future whilst out in the USA. “I don’t know anything about Chelsea,” he said, clearing things up quickly.

“I’m trying to focus on the Club World Cup, which is a very fast competition. Once the tournament is over, we’ll see what happens on the market. If it were up to me, I’d stay here, I’m really happy at Juve, I feel great.”

It comes with great change continuing for the Old Lady. They have recently announced Damien Comolli as the new general manager. Meanwhile, ex-Italy defender Georgio Chiellini is working as director of football strategy.

Juventus will be in the Champions League next season, meaning they can offer an extra incentive to Kolo Muani. Chelsea will also be back at the top table of European club football and are trying to bolster Enzo Maresca’s squad with new options.

Delap joins Nicolas Jackson as a natural centre-forward, whilst Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo have both come in to add numbers ahead of the new season. Mike Penders is being assessed during the Club World Cup but is widely expected to leave on loan with RC Strasbourg a likely destination.

Jackson has been attracting interest from clubs across Europe with noise around his position at Chelsea. However, football.london understands that he is viewed as an important player in the project.

Chelsea are still open to adding another striker to their squad with Hugo Ekitike of interest. He will not move to SW6 unless Frankfurt drop their asking price.
