Benjamin Sesko has dropped a major hint that he could be making the move to Arsenal this summer. Sesko, 22, has emerged as the Gunners’ top target for the No.9 position after scoring 21 goals and adding six assists in 45 matches for RB Leipzig during the 2024/25 season.

Mikel Arteta’s side wanted Sesko last summer but he instead committed his future to Leipzig and signed a new five-year contract. However, after Leipzig failed to secure European football for the first time in eight years, it’s reported that Sesko and several others, such as Xavi Simons, are open to leaving the club.

The Sun claimed earlier this week that while the Gunners are prepared to pay £70million for the former Red Bull Salzburg man, they face a potential roadblock due to his wage demands.

Confidence is still high that Arsenal can get a deal over the line and Sesko himself has now dropped the biggest hint yet that he could be signing for the Gunners in the summer transfer window.

As spotted by Fabrizio Romano, Sesko has followed Arsenal’s official account on Instagram. The Slovenian, who has 297,000 followers, follows 244 people and one of which is the Arsenal page.

Amid the speculation about where Sesko is going to be playing his club football next season, he has been enjoying his summer holiday. On Sunday morning, the Leipzig forward posted a video of himself training in what looked to be a home gym, peddling away on an exercise bike.

With a move to the Premier League on the cards, Sesko seems keen to stay fit ahead of pre-season. football.london understands that the Gunners are interested in signing the ex-Liefering man, even if his stock has fallen a little after struggling during the second half of the season.

Speaking about his future last month, Sesko said: “The club has given me a lot and continues to give me a lot every day. It’s a great club to develop at. I’m currently a player for RB Leipzig, so I’m taking it day by day. If a transfer happens, and if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t.”

If Arsenal can’t get a deal done and sorted for Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres is among the others on their shopping list. The Swede netted 54 times and provided 13 assists in 52 matches for Sporting CP last season.

He is keen to make the move to the Gunners after expressing his desire to exit the Portuguese club, although it appears that following Sesko’s decision to follow the club on Instagram that Arsenal may have decided with a deal for the RB Leipzig forward instead.
