Chelsea are set to offload a significant number of squad players this summer, providing manager Enzo Maresca with the financial firepower needed to refine his team ahead of the 2025-26 season.

The Blues secured fourth place in the Premier League last term and have already added to their ranks for the FIFA Club World Cup. It seems further transfer activity is imminent at Stamford Bridge in the coming months.

Having splashed out considerable sums on several signings in recent years, and with more new arrivals anticipated, a substantial player overhaul is virtually certain. According to The Athletic, as many as 10 players could be shown the door by Chelsea this summer, who are currently engaged in negotiations to sign Jamie Gittens for £50million.

Among those tipped to leave Chelsea this summer is Christopher Nkunku, the French forward who was recently linked with a move to Manchester United, reports the Mirror. Nkunku has found it challenging to make his mark since joining the Blues, and a mutual parting appears likely this summer.

Djordje Petrovic is also expected to exit; he’s eager to secure a No. 1 spot and is considering a move after requesting to be omitted from Chelsea’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup following a successful loan stint at Strasbourg last season.

Players who were loaned out last season, such as Armando Broja, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi and Raheem Sterling, are also available for permanent transfers. Carney Chukwuemeka and Renato Veiga are two other players that the club is reportedly keen to offload, with the report also suggesting that Noni Madueke and Nicolas Jackson could be on the move.

The situations for Madueke and Jackson, however, are less clear-cut. Neither player is officially up ‘for sale’, but substantial offers could certainly give Chelsea something to ponder, as neither player is considered ‘untouchable’.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Madueke and could circle back to the England star later this summer, depending on how their hunt for a new left winger progresses. Chelsea are anticipated to bring in another versatile forward alongside Gittens, who is expected to reject advances from Bayern Munich in favour of a move to the Blues.
