Chelsea are through to the FIFA Club World Cup final after beating Fluminense by two goals to nil at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Two goals from Joao Pedro, who was making his full debut for the Blues, were enough to get the job done and book a place in Sunday’s final.
A mishit clearance from Thiago Silva fell to Joao Pedro on 18 minutes and the Brazilian picked his spot and curled one past Fabio from the edge of the box. Not too long into the second-half, it was two for the Blues and it was that man again.
Enzo Fernandez played Joao Pedro through with the Brazilian cutting in on his right foot and smashing the ball in off the crossbar. Maresca will be delighted with Joao Pedro’s performance, but more importantly, his Chelsea team reaching the final.
