There is a host of traffic incidents rattling rush hour in London this evening (July 15). The M25 is experiencing clockwise delays from J27 to J28 due to a vehicle fire, with lanes one, two, and three closed.
Elsewhere on the M25, there are severe delays in both directions from J7 to J6. The congestion reaches as far as J9 due to people in the road earlier.
In central London, a bus colliding with a tree has shut Woburn Place between Bernard Street and Coram Street. There is recovery work ongoing, and buses 1, 61, and 91 are on diversion.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.35pm today (15 July) to reports of an incident at the junction of the A4200 and Russell Square, WC1H. We sent an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer to the scene. Our first paramedic arrived in five minutes. We assessed two patients and discharged them at the scene.”
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 14:37hrs on Tuesday, 15 July following a single vehicle collision on Bedford Way, WC1. The vehicle, a bus was involved in a collision with a tree. Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service and the London Fire Brigade. Those involved sustained minor injuries. The road remains closed.”
Elsewhere, the Strand Underpass is also closed. A coach reportedly entered the underpass but was too tall, and there are now emergency works being undertaken. There is traffic from Waterloo Bridge to Kingsway.
