‘We paid £1,000 to see Oasis at Wembley Stadium – we arrived so early they gave us better seats’

A pair of Oasis mega-fans has been waiting so long to see the band play at Wembley Stadium that they’ve been given the posh treatment.

Hayley and Reece Cockrell, from Essex, splashed out the big bucks to snag two tickets to tonight’s reunion tour show (Friday, July 25), the first of five London dates over the next two weeks. In fact, they paid a cool £1,000 to get in.

They didn’t reckon this fully captured how Oasis-mad they are, however, so decided to start queuing just past 7am today. At the time of writing, for context, that means they’ve been sat outside Wembley for more than 11 hours.

They even brought massive blow-up chairs with them, because waiting outside on a grey British morning doesn’t mean you have to skimp on comfort.

And it seems the Wembley staff were rather taken with the pair’s devotion, spotting them setting up this morning and offering to bump them up from B Zone to Red Zone – a big boost in seat quality.

“We had to pay a lot of money,” Reece said, “It’ll be worth it as long as she smiles.”

He continued: “We were meant to be in B zone we got here so early they let us in red zone so first in.

“We got here as early as we could so we can get as close as we can. This is part of the journey, I’d rather be here than inside watching telly.”

Reece and Hayley may have some superstar company as well, it seems, with Tom Cruise reportedly securing a bunch of tickets to watch with his mates.

A source close to the band told The Mirror: “Tom Cruise is used to seeing some spectacular things in Hollywood and on film sets but he has heard the new Oasis show is out of this world and was very keen to see it for himself. There are no stunts involved, but the atmosphere will be electric.”
