With the new Premier League season now under a fortnight away from getting under way, business behind the scenes is intensifying. Chelsea, who have been typically busy in the summer transfer window, are on the verge of completing two deals.
Armando Broja is set to join newly-promoted Burnley with the Albania international expected to sign a five-year contract at Turf Moor. An insider close to the deal told football.london at the weekend that the Clarets’ project appealed most to Broja, who had big interest from Germany as well.
Marc Guiu, meanwhile, is also on his way to a Premier League newcomer. Sunderland are close to signing the Spanish striker after terms were agreed over a loan move to the Stadium of Light for the upcoming season.
Chelsea will be hoping to make significant progress in talks to sign Xavi Simons this week. Some supporters have become increasingly frustrated and worried with the lack of updates regarding this deal but football.london understands there remains a big confidence from the 22-year-old’s entourage that the Dutchman will sign for the Blues eventually.
There is a broad agreement already between Simons and Chelsea regarding personal terms but the wait goes on to see whether the two clubs can find common ground on a fee. If Chelsea can get this deal wrapped up, attention may then turn to adding another left winger in Alejandro Garnacho.
The 21-year-old remains of interest to the Blues after they considered making a move for the out-of-favour Manchester United winger in the January transfer window. Interest in Garnacho, who is said to be keen on switching allegiances to Chelsea, has never gone away and a move could be made later in the transfer window, sources have confirmed.

If Garnacho was to come in, then this could pave the way for Tyrique George to leave the club this summer. There is understood to be mass interest in the 19-year-old ahead of the upcoming season with the player himself reported to be concerned over a lack of game time given the addition of Jamie Gittens and potentially Simons and Garnacho.
Christopher Nkunku is also expected to leave. There is heaps of interest in the 27-year-old attacker, who has made it clear to the club that he wishes to move on this summer, from the Premier League as well as overseas. If the Blues are to receive a suitable offer for Nkunku then he will be allowed to leave before the September 1 deadline.
Renato Veiga, too, is set to depart Chelsea permanently this summer. A move to Atletico Madrid looked to be on at one stage but has since collapsed. The Portugal international has admirers from elsewhere in Europe and there have also been murmurs of Saudi Pro League sides coming in for the versatile defender.
Chelsea are also looking for solutions for the likes of Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka and Lesley Ugochukwu this summer. All five of them will be allowed to leave on permanent deals as the Blues look to recoup some money.
