About 50 protesters have gathered outside the Britannia Hotel in Canary Wharf to protest against recent anti-migrant demonstrations. There is a heavy police presence at the scene as a number of counter-protesters are also attending.
Some counter-protesters are wearing St George’s Cross flags wrapped over their shoulders or neck, with a handful wearing full face coverings. Protesters at the Stop the Far Right demonstration are chanting “London is anti-fascist”, with both sides occasionally shouting abuse at each other.
Police were seen intervening once to separate a minor altercation between a protester and a counter-protester. A counter-protester has also unfurled an Israeli flag.
