The approaching bank holiday on Monday, 25 August is set to shake up most benefit payment dates. HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) has already given the nod to changes for payments due on that date, with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) likely to follow suit soon.

Folks who are expecting their State Pension or benefits on 25 August, including Universal Credit, Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Child Benefit and Attendance Allowance, will see the cash land in their accounts a bit earlier, on Friday 22 August.

Payments usually get pushed out on the first working day before a bank holiday to make sure people receive their money when offices, webchat services and phone lines are up and running. The DWP is also tipped to announce that Jobcentres across Great Britain will be shutting their doors on the bank holiday.

Just bear in mind, if your upcoming payment doesn’t coincide with the bank holiday, it’ll be paid as per usual, reports the Daily Record.
