Welcome to Day One!

Good mormning and welcome to our live coverage of the Amazon Spring Deal Days. The internet giant’s super sale is set to run until 11.59pm on Monday with thousands of discounts going live each day for the duration. Our shopping experts are here to wade through them and flag the best although we’re already seeing, as with other Amazon events like Prime Day and Black Friday, lots of the brand’s competitor retailers have launched their own sales to run at the same time – most notably so far Antler, eBay, Lakeland, Dunelm and Oodie – although we’ve heard Ninja will be pressing the button on some discounts of their own this morning.

This is definitely a good shout as right now if you’re in the market for a kitchen gadget, Amazon’s early deals are a great place to start and some of Ninja’s best-loved products are early highlights in the bargain stakes if you’re a foodie or keen home chef.

Ahead of the launch of their XL Pro barbecue later this month, Amazon has cut the price on NInja’s Woodfire BBQ by £110, a discount of 27%. The Woodfire is not just a BBQ but also an outdoor smoker and air fryer and caused a stir when it was launched last year – it sold out immediately, came back into stock, sold out again and within three months had officially been crowned the UK’s best-selling barbecue.

If you’re not ready to brave cooking outdoors yet in 2024, there are also solid savings on the Ninja Foodi Dual Zone which is 28% off at £179.99 and comes in a limited edition copper colourway and the Foodi Max Health Grill (27% off at £199).

My top tip though is the Ninja Speedi which has been reduced by a whopping 44% taking it down to £140 – as low as it was for Black Friday last year. I reviewed the Speedi for Mirror Choice when it launched and, over a year later, it’s still one of my most-used kitchen gadgets and barely ever put in the cupboard. It works slightly differently and more quickly than standard air fryers (hence the name) but is a versatile option that has changed the landscape of beige family dinners I was preparing for my children while working from home. What’s more it’s similar enough to the normal air fryers that you can adapt recipes from things like the Poppy Cooks and Bored of Lunch air fryer books and still get great results.

If, like me, you’re already a fan of the Speedi there’s also a host of gadgets that are discounted in the sale to help make cooking in it easy – I’ve got my eye on this divideable air fryer liner as well as some metal racks.
