Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Ange Postecoglou’s post-match press conference following Tottenham’s 4-2 defeat against Liverpool.

Coming into the game on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Chelsea on Thursday evening, the Spurs boss made just the one change to his starting XI with Rodrigo Bentancur replacing Richarlison.

It was Liverpool who had the better chances early on as Mohamed Salah clipped the crossbar and forced Guglielmo Vicario into a save, before Cristian Romero cleared off the line from Harvey Elliott seconds later.

Jurgen Klopp’s side did have the ball in the net on 16 minutes through Salah as he was left all alone at the back post to head in Cody Gakpo’s cross.

With Tottenham not really troubling the hosts and with Liverpool always looking the most likeliest to score next, they did just that on the cusp of half-time as Andy Robertson scored from point-blank range.

It was to get even worse for Spurs minutes into the second half as Gakpo got a goal for himself as he headed in Elliott’s cross to the back post, before Elliott managed to get on the scoresheet with a rasping drive that found the top corner of Vicario’s goal.

Despite their four-goal deficit, Tottenham gave themselves some late hope with Richarlison firstly finding the net and then Son Heung-min doing likewise to set up a tense finale.

Our Tottenham correspondent Rob Guest is among those putting the questions to Postecoglou after the match. Scroll down for his latest updates from the press conference at Anfield.
