UEFA have confirmed when Arsenal will play their Champions League league phase fixtures.
The Gunners will play Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Club Brugge, Olympiakos, Slavia Prague, Kairat Almaty and Athletic Club in this season’s competition. Mikel Arteta’s side will host Bayern, Atletico, Olympiakos and debutants Kairat at Emirates Stadium, with the other four fixtures being played away.
The north Londoners will kick-off their European campaign away to Athletic Club on September 16, while the first home match will be played against Olympiacos two weeks later. Two of Arsenal’s toughest fixtures in the league phase, against Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, will be played at Emirates Stadium on October 21 and November 26, respectively.
Two away games against Club Brugge and Inter Milan will follow the clash with the German giants. The league phase campaign will end with a home match against Kairat Almaty on January 28.
Should Arsenal finish in the top eight of the league phase, they will automatically progress into the last 16 of the competition. Teams finishing in ninth to 24th place will compete in a two-legged play-off to secure their path into the last 16.
