Arsenal press conference – Mikel Arteta on Smith Rowe, Saka injury, Luton win

Mikel Arteta is set to face the press after Arsenal’s Premier League clash with Luton Town at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners went into the game with something of a surprise line up, with Arteta opting to make five changes from the side who claimed a creditable point at Manchester City. One of those was enforced by injury with Bukayo Saka unable to take part.

With all the tweaks it took a while for Arsenal to get going, but they got their noses in front when Emile Smith Rowe won the ball up high to start a move that Martin Odegaard was able to finish.

Smith Rowe was involved again as Arsenal doubled their lead on the stroke of half time, surging into the box and squaring to Reiss Nelson, only for the Hale Ender to miskick and allow Daiki Hashioka to turn into his own net.

With Arsenal well on top the second half was then something of a non-event. The result means that the Gunners have moved back to the top of the Premier League with Luton set to host Sheffield United on Thursday night.

You can hear everything Arteta has to say on all that more with football.london‘s chief Arsenal correspondent Kaya Kaynak in our live below.
