Mikel Arteta is set to face the press after Arsenal missed out on Premier League glory despite a 2-1 win over Everton at Emirates Stadium.
The game got off to a bad start for the Gunners as news immediately trickled through that Manchester City had raced into a 2-0 lead at home to West Ham.
Things then went from bad to worse as Everton edged in front as Idrissa Gueye’s free kick deflected off Declan Rice and beyond David Raya.
There was a sudden switch though as West Ham pulled one back only for Takehiro Tomiyasu to equalise seconds later, setting up a party atmosphere at the Emirates at the break.
It wasn’t to last long though unfortunately. Rodri added a third for City and Arsenal toiled for a winner, missing chances through Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli.
Eventually they did manage to find the winner on the day as Gabriel Jesus won the ball up high for Martin Odegaard whose mishit shot fell into the path of Kai Havertz to tap home.
Unfortunately it wasn’t to be enough for the Gunners who miss out on the Premier League title by the narrowest of margins. You can hear every word Arteta has to say on all that and much more with football.london ‘s chief Arsenal correspondent Kaya Kaynak in our live blog below.
