Hello and welcome to football.london’s live blog covering Arsenal’s Premier League match with Luton Town at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners could return to the top of the Premier League with a win over the relegation-threatened Hatters.

The Gunners endured one of the most testing and riveting spectacles in the reverse fixture at Kenilworth Road earlier in the season. They needed a late Declan Rice goal to secure all three points and set the Gunners up for their title challenge which is under persistent threat.

The 0-0 draw with Manchester City at the weekend kept them in front of their rivals but saw them drop two points behind Liverpool. With both the Reds and City in action this week, Mikel Arteta is reminded that a flawless run is likely required to have any hope of lifting the Premier League trophy at the end of the season.

Bukayo Saka came off with fatigue against Man City on Sunday but Mikel Arteta has said he is “fine” and in contention for the midweek game. Meanwhile, Gabriel Martinelli made his return from injury and could also be in the starting line-up.

It is the first game at the Emirates since the Champions League win over Porto and with the visit of Bayern Munich next week there is an emphasis on rotation. Arteta will be in the spotlight to see how he manages his squad over the next few weeks.

Tom Canton and Kaya Kaynak will be bringing all the build-up, match coverage and commentary from the Etihad Stadium, with updates to follow.
