B&M is one of those shops where you go in wanting one thing, and come out with half of the shop – but fans have clocked a ‘secret’ way to find ‘cheaper’ items in store.

TikToker @nostalgia.2000s1 is a bargain hunter, and he took to the social media site to explain how you could get bargains in the store, and first, you need to download the B&M app.

In his video, titled: “How to find the hidden sales in B&M Bargains”, he encouraged people to come shopping with him, and along the way, he explains he’d let viewers into their “best-kept secrets” that enable customers to “find the best deals”.

He said: “First up you’re going to want to find the item you want to scan then head over to the B&M app and at the bottom of the page, press ‘scan’. You then scan the barcode of the item and wait for it to load. It should then come up with its price”, he explained, and the item did – £1.

He then showed a photo of the front of the item, which was originally priced at £12, but had since been reduced to £10 and then even further to just £1, reports Wales Online.

He then gave other examples of bargain buys he found by using the app’s scanner. “I found this Prolex Slow Cooker for £15, but after I scanned it on the app, it is only £6”, he boasted.

He then urged people to download the app if they’re not using it already, showing his receipt to prove that “What you see on the app is the price you’re going to pay at the till.”

A manager at B&M wrote in the comments of the TikTok: “I’m a B&M manager. The reason things on the shelf are a different price is that the ticket hasn’t been changed yet. We get a lot of price changes and some get missed. It will scan through the till”.

One asked: “How do u pay that price at the checkout?”, and another replied: “The price will be the same as on the app along as you take that exact item to the till as items have different barcodes.”

Someone joked that they’d do it if they could “get internet connection” in their local B&M, and another said: “Omg I did not know that!” A TikToker even claimed that they got a Fuji Instax camera for £5 in the store near them.

The Mirror has contacted B&M for comment.
