‘Bridezilla pal is forcing me to wear a wig to her wedding – and that’s not the worst part’

A bridesmaid has slammed her ‘bridezilla’ pal for imposing a list of strict rules ahead of her wedding next month – including making the woman wear a wig and cover her tattoos

We all want the perfect wedding, but one bride’s list of demands has gone way too far.

Planning a wedding is a stressful operation, and there’s nothing wrong with wanting your big day to go off without a hitch. However, one bride-to-be has been slammed online after she sent a list of demands to her bridesmaids that laid out strict restrictions on the way they should look, from covering their tattoos to wearing contacts instead of glasses.

But the rules don’t stop there, and some of them have been deemed as way too harsh. The bride has told her bridesmaids they must have a “professionally” styled wig if their hair is “too short” or shaved, and they must dye it either blonde or black, with the bride telling them “what colour is best”.

In even more extreme rules, the bride has demanded her bridesmaids all “fit into a size 8 dress”, and are not allowed to have “visible scars”. Bridesmaids also cannot “have brown eyes” and must wear blue contact lenses, and if they’re already married themselves, they can’t wear their wedding band.

Explaining her issue with the rules on Reddit, one bridesmaid said: “One of the biggest issues – our required look. Here is where I started to backpedal and want to walk away. I have very thick but fine hair. I keep the sides shaved down and the top and back long like halfway down my back which helps my migraines. I also have an Eeyore tattoo and a bear paw print tattoo that shows. I also just had bariatric surgery so I’m working on losing weight. I also have glasses.”

The bridesmaid – who has known the bride since they were teenagers – also said the bride has put together a “list of acceptable gifts” that people must buy from, and none of the gifts are cheap.

“There is a section of events where we are required to give a gift and the list of acceptable gifts for each event. For example, a bachelorette party requires a gift of at least $100 (£80) and includes bags, shoes, clothes, etc. The wedding shower is a required gift minimum of $50 (£40) and some type of ‘expensive alcohol’.”

It doesn’t stop there either. Bridesmaids were given a “14-page” contract full of things they were required to do before the wedding, such as not get pregnant, attend regular meetings to plan the big day, and even plan their own event to celebrate the happy couple.

Commenters on the post were baffled by the bride’s requirements, with some saying she was “deluded” if she thinks people will follow her strict guidelines. One person said: “No brown eyes? That’s a level of delusion I didn’t think possible,” while another added: “She sounds psychotic, and I would absolutely back out of this wedding.”
