Enzo Maresca provided an injury update on a few players following Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fluminense. The Blues cruised past the Brazilian outfit at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Tuesday night as they booked a place in the Club World Cup final.
Joao Pedro fired Chelsea ahead inside the opening half an hour, marking his first start with a brilliant strike from outside the box. Shortly after the break, the 23-year-old striker, who only swapped the Amex Stadium for Stamford Bridge last week, doubled his tally with another superb effort.
The west Londoners will face either Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid in the final this weekend. So, with that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest Chelsea injury news.
Moises Caicedo
Moises Caicedo landed awkwardly on his ankle towards the end of Chelsea’s clash against Fluminense. After receiving some treatment on the sidelines, the 23-year-old midfielder briefly returned to the pitch before coming off again.
Injury: Ankle.
What Maresca has said: “Moi, with his ankle, when it happened, I told him, because there were just two or three games to go, I told him that we could play with 10 players. It’s important that we don’t get too worked up because we have a game on Sunday, but we felt that we could try, and we can play. Hopefully he can be fit on Sunday, we’ll see.”
