The new Blues boss Enzo Maresca will officially begin his duty on July 1 after succeeding Mauricio Pochettino in the hot seat at Stamford Bridge. However, talks have already taken place as Maresca looks to put his own stamp on the squad.
With the club working hard behind the scenes to complete signings, two deals have already been completed in Tosin Adarabioyo and Brazilian wonderkid Estevao Willian. The teenager will remain in his homeland for another season before moving to London next summer.
Chelsea were eyeing a deal for Crystal Palace star Michael Olise but pulled out of the race after concerns about potential cost involved with that deal. He is now set to join Bayern Munich. With alternatives being explored, Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams is a player of interest. He is claimed to have a £46million (€55m) release clause.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are also looking to sign a new striker and after reportedly seeing a £34million bid rejected for Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, Lille’s Jonathan David has emerged as an option.
Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran is also on the radar. Elsewhere, Omari Kellyman is set to become the Blues’ third signing after a reported £19million deal was agreed for the midfielder with Villa. Ian Maatsen will head the other way whilst there is still attention over the futures of Conor Gallagher, Trevoh Chalobah, and Armando Broja.
