Chelsea look set to complete a large portion of their summer business in the first few weeks of the transfer window. The Club World Cup has impacted plans for several clubs with that tournament and the trading period briefly closing as a result, seeing multiple deals sealed and announced already.

Liverpool have already added Jeremie Frimpong to their ranks and now Florian Wirtz looks set to join for a record British transfer fee. Matheus Cunha has also officially joined Manchester United with talks to start for Bryan Mbeumo to follow the Wolves man to Old Trafford.

The likes of Dean Huijsen, Kevin Danso, Michael Kayode and Charly Alcaraz have also had moves both in and out of the Premier League confirmed. Chelsea can now join those clubs to have made transfers official with Dario Essugo’s arrival from Sporting CP confirmed on Monday evening.

An £18million agreement was struck for the midfielder’s arrival back in March and he is set to be available to Enzo Maresca for the upcoming Club World Cup.

The Chelsea boss will want more additions for their upcoming games against Leon, Flamengo, ES Tunis and potentially beyond with it looking as though he will receive exactly that.

Liam Delap joining in a £30million deal from Ipswich Town is expected to be confirmed imminently after he opted for a move to Stamford Bridge over Manchester United following their top-five finish in the Premier League.

His medical was completed in the last 24 hours and therefore an official announcement is likely in the works. However, it remains to be seen whether he will play in the Club World Cup given the under-21 European championships will be ongoing at the same time.

Perhaps because of that, Chelsea are targeting a different signing to come in before Saturday, June 14 with talks to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jamie Gittens restarting recently after initially beginning back in the January transfer window.

The German club’s asking price looks set to be in the region of £50million with the 20-year-old said to have already communicated his desire to leave.

Despite a double swoop in attack, more frontline additions could take place especially with Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku set to move on permanently.

A move for an experienced striker could be explored with Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres as two options linked that fit that requirement. Alternatively, the Blues may pursue Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike with the Frenchman now focused on his long-term future after pulling out of the France Euros squad due to injury.
