Chelsea announced the signing of Joao Pedro on Wednesday morning in what was their fourth addition of the summer transfer window thus far.
The Brazil international joins the likes of Liam Delap, Dario Essugo and Mamadou Sarr through the door at Stamford Bridge. It will soon be five in for Chelsea, with the Blues agreeing a £55million deal with Borussia Dortmund for Jamie Gittens. While the west Londoners are yet to make the signing of Gittens official, football.london understands everything is done on that front.
Very soon, Chelsea’s attention could be about to switch to outgoings this summer. The Blues are looking to loan out the likes of Ishe Samuels-Smith, Omari Kellyman, Kendry Paez, Marc Guiu and Mathis Amougou in the coming weeks in time for the start of the 2025/26 campaign.
Elsewhere, a number of players are likely to be sold this window. Noni Madueke is of interest to Arsenal, football.london understands, and Chelsea are open to selling the winger should they receive the right offer for his services. There has been no set price quoted to football.london at the time of writing, but there is a belief Newcastle United will enter the race for Madueke at some point as well after the Magpies saw an offer for Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elanga turned down recently.
There is also interest in Renato Veiga, who is expected to leave the club this summer. The Portugal international was allowed to leave on loan in the January transfer window and Chelsea are open to cashing in on the versatile defender this summer with his stocks high at the moment. Similar can be said about Djordje Petrovic.

The Serbian goalkeeper enjoyed a fine season on loan at Strasbourg and many believed he would return to Chelsea and replace Robert Sanchez as the No.1. However, the Blues could not promise Petrovic that status in the squad. Petrovic is keen to move somewhere where he will be the first-choice goalkeeper and is currently in talks with newly-promoted Sunderland over a move to the north east.
Carney Chukwuemeka is currently at the FIFA Club World Cup with Borussia Dortmund, with his loan spell extended for the remainder of the competition. There is said to be a reluctance from the German club to make any deal for the midfielder permanent but they are interested in another loan move for Chukwuemeka. Chelsea will look to sell the former Aston Villa man before sanctioning another loan, however.
Axel Disasi, Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Armando Broja have all been told they can leave the club for good this summer. Chelsea would prefer all of them to leave on permanent deals but have found it difficult to offload them in recent transfer windows.
Joao Felix is likely to leave the club, just 12 months after returning to Stamford Bridge. The addition of Joao Pedro means he has fallen even further down the pecking order. Likewise with Christopher Nkunku, who has told the club he will look to move on this summer as well.
