Countdown to London Marathon 2024 as Eastenders, Luther and Doctor Who stars set to join start line

The London Marathon is just over a week away now, with thousands of entrants set to run 26.2 miles through the city, including some well-known names. The marathon, which is taking place on Sunday, April 21, will take runners from one end of London to the other.

Several celebrities are taking part in the London Marathon this year too, from Eastenders and Doctor Who stars to famous sports people, comedians and presenters. Emma Barton, known for playing Honey Mitchell in Eastenders, will be joined by colleagues Jamie Borthwick and Max Bowden.

Romesh Ranganathan, known for his stand up comedy and podcast, will be running the London Marathon for CALM, while Laura Hamilton, who presents Channel 4’s A Place in the Sun. Harry Judd, from McFly, will be taking to the streets as well as Luther’s Ruth Wilson.

The race will start in Blackheath, with three start points designed to avoid congestion at the beginning. The race then ends right outside Buckingham Palace on The Mall after running up the side of St James’ Park and storming through Westminster along the north bank of the Thames.
