There will be no overnight tram services this Saturday (May 10) on key routes in and out of Croydon.

Transport for London (TfL) has announced that tram routes between Croydon town centre and New Addington, Elmers End, and Beckenham Junction will cease temporarily from 8.30pm on Saturday until the early hours of Sunday (May 11).

The disruption is due to scheduled track works, with notices only appearing across the network in the past 48 hours, according to InsideCroydon.

The service suspension will affect all trams between Wellesley Road and the outer branches, including Beckenham Junction, Elmers End, and New Addington.

Limited services will continue to run between Wimbledon and Wellesley Road, as well as between George Street and Wimbledon, offering some alternative options for late-night travellers.

TfL says normal services should resume by Sunday morning, May 11. This weekend’s closures follow recent maintenance works on the New Addington and East Croydon section of the network including updates to tram stops that ran throughout April.

Passengers are being urged to check before they travel and consider alternative transport.

TfL encourages travellers to use its website and TfL GO app for route planning.
