Declan Rice’s Noni Madueke response speaks volumes about Arsenal transfer masterplan

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has made his feeling on Noni Madueke’s transfer to the club clear in his response to the winger on social media.

Arsenal confirmed on Friday that the winger had completed a move to the Emirates Stadium from Chelsea by signing a five-year contract with the club. football.london understands that the deal will see Arsenal pay a fee of £48.5 million with £3.5 million in add-ons.

Madueke became the fourth new arrival of the summer, following the captures of Martin Zubimendi, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Christian Norgaard. The England international is expected to provide competition to Bukayo Saka on the right hand side of Arsenal’s attack.

His arrival has prompted a mixed response from the Arsenal fan base but he will be looking to prove his doubters wrong in the upcoming season.

The 2024/25 campaign saw the 23-year-old scored 11 goals and provide five assists in 46 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, including seven goals and four assists in the Premier League.

He has also broken into the England squad, providing three assists in his seven senior appearances for the Three Lions so far. It’s with England where Madueke has trained and played alongside Rice.

Following his move to Arsenal, Madueke took to social media to respond to the move. “Humbled and blessed to be here,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Thank you to everyone that made this possible. I can’t wait to get on the pitch and start to repay the faith shown in me.

“It’s gonna be so special…God is the greatest. Let’s go.”

In the replies to that post Rice wrote: “Buzzzzing you [sic] here!! Let’s go broo.” He wasn’t the only current Arsenal player to respond, with Jurrien Timber replying with a red heart emoji, while Martin Odegaard replied with red and white heart emojis.

Fellow England internationals Ezri Konsa and Morgan Rogers also responded, with Konsa sending a clapping and praising hands emoji, while Rogers wrote: “Let’s get in my brotherrrr.”

Madueke will be looking to make an instant impact at Arsenal. He could make his first appearance for the club when they take on AC Milan in their first pre-season friendly in Singapore on Wednesday afternoon.
