The Princess of Wales has found herself at the centre of a social media storm after admitting to altering a picture of herself after going ‘missing’ following abdominal surgery

Donald Trump has rushed to defend the Princess of Wales after she faced cruel online speculation while recovering from abdominal surgery.

Kate has taken a step back from royal duties while she recovers, with many people questioning her whereabouts on social media. The wild conspiracy theories reached fever pitch when she released an edited picture of herself and her children for Mother’s Day.

In an interview with Nigel Farage on GB News, Trump spoke out about the photogate scandal. “Everyone doctors photos,” Trump defended. “Look at these movie actors, you see a movie actor and you meet him and you say, ‘Is that the same person?'” He continued, “I looked at it actually and it was a very minor doctoring.”

He added: “She’ll be back, I mean, it’s a rough patch.” Royal fans had taken to social media to point out several “errors” with the new picture and Kate was forced to apologise. Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, she said: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C.”

Elsewhere in the interview, he suggested Prince Harry could face consequences for his shocking drugs confession if he wins the upcoming election. Trump was asked whether Harry would be deported after admitting to taking drugs. In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex said he had tried cocaine, cannabis and magic mushrooms.

Trump warned Harry could face deportation over his admission. Host Farage asked if there would be any “special privileges” for Harry to which he responded: “No. We’ll have to see if they know something about the drugs, and if he lied they’ll have to take appropriate action.”

During the GB News interview, Farage pushed for more information, asking: “Appropriate action? Which might mean…not staying in America?” Trump didn’t give much away as he replied: “Oh I don’t know. You’ll have to tell me. You just have to tell me. You would have thought they would have known this a long time ago.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Trump touched on King Charles’ cancer battle. The monarch was diagnosed with the disease back in February after undergoing treatment for an unrelated issue. The former US President then hit out at Harry and his wife Meghan Markle for the way they dealt with the late Queen Elizabeth II when she was still alive.
