Arsenal start a new week with an impressive six new signings completed this summer after the transfer announcement of Viktor Gyokeres on Saturday evening.
The Swede had dominated headlines for the last few weeks with it clear he wanted to join the Gunners but Sporting CP remained determined throughout to receive what they believed to be a fair price. That ended up being €63.5m (£55million) as the fixed fee and a further €10m (£8.4million) as achievable add-ons.
That has seen Arsenal’s spending rise to just under £200million and yet more new signings are still under consideration. Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace is one of those and arguably the target most likely to join.
Sanctioning first-team departures will be required first however, with a new exit avenue emerging for one player that could improve Arsenal’s financial position. With that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.
Eze message
Though Arsenal’s interest in Eze is known, his focus remains on Palace as evidenced by him appearing on their pre-season tour while Alexander Isak and Yoane Wissa, two other players linked to moves, have not featured for Newcastle and Brentford, respectively.
Alongside a video uploaded to the club’s social media account of him arriving in Austria, Eze has posted updates to his own Instagram with two images of him in action during a friendly against Crawley Town. One of those showed him with the ball at his feet.
football.london says: Despite all of those noise, Eze’s focus quite clearly remains on Palace. Their first clash overseas comes on Tuesday afternoon against Mainz with the England international sure to be involved.
With three games set to be contested over the next few days, Arsenal will be hoping for progress in a deal for Eze during that time. Palace’s 2025/26 season also kicks off one week early as they face Liverpool in the Community Shield with it likely they would prefer his future to be resolved before then.
That gives the Gunners a rather tight deadline to strike a breakthrough and also sell players. Palace selling in the second half of August is certainly a possibility but their demands will likely change as less time would be available to secure a replacement.

Jesus exit latest
A significant knee injury looked to rule Gabriel Jesus out of a summer exit but that may not actually be the case. The latest report surrounding his future has come from Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte which states that talks between Arsenal and Flamengo over a season-long loan are ongoing.
Jesus, with hope of a return to the Brazil squad for the World Cup, is said to be open to the move in order to play more minutes. It has also been noted that Arsenal would only need to pay half of his £250,000-per-week salary if the temporary move goes ahead.
football.london says: With Jesus likely out of action until October at the earliest, a permanent move seemed unlikely to go ahead. This option at least saves Arsenal some money on wages with it roughly working out at £6million if the switch is granted from August 2025 until July 2026.
That may not seem like much in the grand scheme but any savings could prove crucial for Arsenal in their attempts to afford transfer fees and personal terms for other potential additions. Assuming the loan goes well, it could also result in Jesus’ value increasing and thus allowing Arsenal to sell at a decent price next summer.
It seems as though a lot of intricacies still need to be resolved but it certainly looks as though the move could be a good one for all parties.
