Disney Cruise Line has revealed it’s getting brand new cruise ship Disney Destiny for 2025 inspired by hit films including The Lion King and Hercules

Disney fans may want to get ready to take to the seas in 2025, as Disney Cruise Line has just offered a sneak peek at its brand new cruise ship!

Disney Destiny is set to make her debut next year, and although the company hasn’t yet confirmed a maiden voyage date for her cruises, they have revealed that there will be nods to iconic films such as The Lion King, Hercules, One Hundred and One Dalmatians.

The cruise line is remaining pretty tight-lipped about exactly what’s on offer, but they have revealed that it will be inspired by some of Disney’s iconic heroes and villains, with Imagineering teams inspired by the “opposing forces of light and dark [which] drive characters to rise to their purpose”. Meanwhile Minnie Mouse fans can see her rocking a heroic ensemble on the bow of the ship.

Sharon Siskie, senior vice president and general manager at Disney Cruise Line, added that the new ship “will celebrate our most legendary Disney stories and characters, bringing them to life in new and exciting ways exclusively for Disney Cruise Line guests”.

It’s not the only exciting news for cruise fans. Disney is already set to launch one of this year’s most highly-anticipated new ships, the Disney Treasure, a sister ship to Disney Destiny.

Judging by the sneak peek inside the ship, there are heaps of brand new features awaiting passengers including the likes of a Coco-inspired immersive dining experience, a Zootopia sweet shop, a Star Wars themed kids’ club, a submarine pub in tribute to 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and an epic waterslide adventure where families join Mickey and Minnie in Ancient Egypt as they’re propelled in two-person rafts through 760ft of winding tubes.

Meanwhile there will be a brand new Broadway-worthy show that’s sure to be a hit with Moana fans. The aptly named ‘Disney The Tale of Moana’ will be an exclusive show in the ship’s theatre, and it’s the first stage adaptation of the hit film. Passengers can expect incredible puppetry, special effects, and brand new song ‘Warrior Face’ performed by Moana and Maui.

Oh, and for those who can’t get enough of the parks’ Haunted Mansion rides or the films inspired by the attractions, then a drink at the Haunted Mansion Parlor will need to be on the cards. This sleek new bar will offer a menu of signature cocktails as well as some exclusive merch too, and will tell the tale of a jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancée.

The ship is due to sail on her maiden voyage in December 2024 on a sun-soaked itinerary in the Caribbean, and will include a stay at the brand’s new Bahamas beach retreat, Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
