Gabriel Martinelli hints at first Arsenal summer deal – and it already has Bukayo Saka approval

Gabriel Martinelli has called Arsenal home for six years now. With two years remaining on his current deal, supporters will be hoping that his stay is extended for many, many more.

The winger is still only 23 years of age, after all, with a long career still ahead. He is already established as a firm Gunners favourite and an integral part of the squad Mikel Arteta has formed to challenge for the highest honours.

51 goals scored, another 29 assisted, Martinelli’s contributions would be dearly missed, especially if a trophy has not been collected by the time he would hypothetically leave.

As things stand, the Brazilian has a deal that covers his stay at the Emirates Stadium until the summer of 2027.

For now, tensions can rest but if there is still no progress by this time in 12 months, Arsenal would be approaching a difficult period deciding whether they need to cash in on their prized asset or risk losing him for free one year after.

He has already vowed to help the Gunners end their trophy drought, now Martinelli has implied that he feels at home with the club.

Visiting the Gunners’ stadium this midweek, the winger simply used the house emoji as a caption to photos sitting in the stands or greeting club heroes Ian Wright and Gilberto Silva.

If this is indeed the feeling of the winger, sporting director Andrea Berta should relish negotiations and it could hint that the player is ready to sign a new deal keeping him at the club for even longer.

What’s more, Bukayo Saka liked Martinelli’s post in a display of kinship with his fellow attacker.

The pair have been nailed-on starters for Arteta on the flanks of his three-pronged attack over the years, with more questions asked about who should line up between the two.

These questions have especially come to a head this summer as Arsenal are expected to recruit a definite striker for their cause.
