A gang of three men forced their way into a Bromley home and stole half a million pounds worth of gold jewellery in a raid which lasted 45 minutes, while the family were in the house. The lost items have been described as being of ‘priceless sentimental value’ and many have been passed down generations.

Met Police investigating the burglary have shared photos of the ‘unique’ pieces of jewellery in the hope people may recognise them and help to get them returned. The raid took place at a house in Bickley Road on the evening of Monday, December 30, 2024.

Footage seen by police shows three men getting into the home through a forced bathroom window. They entered at 5.40pm and left at 6.25pm, carrying out the theft while the owners were home.

Detective Constable Jamie White, of the Met’s South Area Command Unit, said: “While the monetary value of this theft is enormous, the sentimental value is priceless – with many of the pieces being passed down through generations of the family.

“Helpfully, a number of the pieces stolen are unique, so we are hoping that releasing these photographs will jog someone’s memory. If you have seen these items anywhere – or know of anyone handling the goods – please do get in touch with the Met via 101, quoting 01/1257889/24.”

If you have information and wish to stay anonymous, you can speak to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. No arrests have been made at this stage.
