The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have now been dragged into a royal photo editing row with a snap from Prince Archie’s christening now under scrutiny

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dragged into the latest royal photo editing row, with a snap from Prince Archie’s christening now the subject of speculation.

As the world continues to talk about the Princess of Wales’ recent Photoshop errors, which led to a “kill notification” on a sweet snap that she unveiled on Mother’s Day following several photo-editing errors and “manipulation” being uncovered, it seems that the Sussexes have been dragged into the scandal.

The family snap from Prince Archie’s christening has now come under scrutiny. Taken by fashion photographer Chris Allerton and released on July 6, 2019, it sees a baby Archie being cradled by his parents the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Also in the snap is King Charles, his wife Camilla, Prince William and Princess Kate, as well as Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, plus Princess Diana’s sisters.

Global picture agency Getty has said the portrait had been “digitally enhanced”. It is currently unclear why this has been flagged due to it showing no signs of any obvious alterations.

Amid claims that the snap “was digitally enhanced”, Mr Allerton has vehemently denied having manipulated the picture “in any way”. He has told the Daily Mail that the portrait only required “very minimal tuning” to the tone and exposure. He noted how he had previously prepared his camera and lighting settings.

In a statement shared by The Express, Mr Allerton said the image “has not been manipulated and was distributed to the best of my knowledge in adherence with the submission guidelines required by Getty Images, via the Palace Press office”.

Elsewhere, Mr Allerton added that he has since contacted the Getty Editorial Team “to request clarification”. He went on: “I have subsequently received a reply from a senior Getty Images director stating, ‘we have confirmed that no manipulation has been done to this image and the note has been removed’.”

This comes after it was reported that Prince Harry is said to be “concerned” for his sister-in-law Kate Middleton amid conspiracies and speculation surrounding the Princess of Wales after her photo-editing scandal on Mother’s Day.

According to a new report by Page Six, the Duke of Sussex is “distracted” with concern by the headlines surrounding his brother’s wife and the way in which she has retreated from public life following a hospital stay after she underwent abdominal surgery back in January. The source also said that Harry believes “any hint of scandal is untrue”.
