The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been urged to showcase their humanitarian and charity work more to show them in a more positive light and find their way back to the UK

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could find their way back to the UK and to winning favour again if they focus on their charity efforts and avoid “the Hollywood limelight”, according to an expert.

The couple, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020, have supported many charity endeavours as well as launching their own Archewell Foundation. A PR expert has now revealed that they should prioritise their humanitarian work rather than be “overshadowed by all the tabloid gossip”.

Carla Speight, a PR expert, told Closer: “Harry and Meghan need to stay away from the Hollywood limelight and avoid the British celebrity circuit. They need to focus on the kind of humanitarian work that seems to get overshadowed by all the tabloid gossip and drama that is always revolving around them.”

Speight added that the heart of Harry and Meghan’s story focuses on humanitarian efforts and “goodness”, as she added: “They still perform duties as if they were royals, they still promote and support a lot of charities, as they would do if they were in The Firm.”

The comment comes as Meghan Markle and Prince Harry appear to have been handed a potential olive branch by the Royal Family after their latest website was recognised on the family’s own official site. Whilst bios for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the official Buckingham Palace website may have been made smaller, it appears the smaller mention is not thought to be a snub. Instead, it’s thought that the inclusion of Harry and Meghan’s own site could work as a potential olive branch for the pair.

While the Sussexes stepped away from the Royal Family in January of 2020, their detailed bios on the official Buckingham Palace website had remained untouched for the past four years. As the whole website has undergone an overhaul, their sections have been trimmed down to just 500 words combined but a key sentence now reads: “Information about the current work of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex can be found on their official website: sussex.com.”

The first sentence of their new profile explained that they “have stepped back as working members of The Royal Family” and goes on to give brief summaries of both of their most notable lifelong accomplishments. This now means they are now the only married members of the Royal Family that do not have their own individual profiles.

The couple’s popularity has also recently plummeted according to a new poll which sees just 11% of those asked name Prince Harry as the royal they liked the most. Meanwhile, the Duchess of Sussex only came in at 7%. But despite the Sussexes ranking very low in the new Ipsos poll for The Evening Standard, they did however rank higher than three members of the Royal Family. The couple above were ranked above Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie who ranked 10th and 11th, meanwhile, their father Prince Andrew ranked 12th with just 2% of the general public voting him as their favourite member of the Royal Family.
