Chelsea are set to face Ajax in the Champions League as Enzo Maresca’s side aim to extend their win streak and here are all the details you need to follow the action
Chelsea will be looking to continue their winning run as they prepare to face Ajax in the Champions League. The Blues have emerged victorious from their last three games and will have their eyes set on climbing the Champions League table.
The reigning Club World Cup and Europa Conference League champions suffered a setback in their opening match against Bayern Munich, losing 3-1 in Germany last month. However, Enzo Maresca’s side got their Champions League campaign back on track against Benfica.
An early own goal from Richard Rios proved enough to settle the tie as newly-appointed Benfica boss Jose Mourinho returned to Stamford Bridge in September. There was a late red card for Joao Pedro, with dismissals proving to be a recurring theme of Chelsea’s season so far, but the Blues successfully claimed three points.
That result has since been followed by uplifting wins over Liverpool and Nottingham Forest in the Premier League. Maresca will want to ensure his side continue building momentum against Ajax.
The Dutch side, coached by former Everton defender John Heitinga, currently sit fourth in the Eredivisie and lost to Inter Milan and Marseille in their opening Champions League games. Here, football.london details how to watch the action unfold.

What is the Chelsea team news?
Cole Palmer remains a key absentee for Chelsea. It was hoped that Palmer would be fit again after the recent international break, but Maresca admitted last week that the 23-year-old was facing a longer spell on the sidelines.
Regarding Palmer’s groin injury, the Chelsea boss said: “We hope that six weeks, they are enough, but it’s a problem that we need to see step by step, week after week, but for sure he’s going to be okay.”
Enzo Fernandez also missed the win over Forest due to injury and it remains to be seen if he will return to face Ajax. Wesley Fofana was also absent from the squad but is expected to be available on Wednesday.
Joao Pedro will be unavailable due to his late red card in Chelsea’s last Champions League outing against Benfica. Meanwhile, defender Benoit Badiashile is expected to be out until December with a muscle problem.
Both Levi Colwill and Liam Delap also remain sidelined with injuries. Colwill is expected to miss most of the campaign with an ACL injury, while Delap could return from his hamstring issue next month.
