Tonight is the night. Chelsea take on Real Betis in the Conference League final in Wroclaw as head coach Enzo Maresca aims to win his first piece of silverware in his debut season at the club.
Maresca takes on his old master Manuel Pellegrini, the man who he worked under during their days at West Ham United. While they are close friends and keep consistent contact, that will go out of the window for at least 90 minutes this evening in Poland.
Chelsea go into the match as favourites – as they have throughout their Conference League campaign – but in Betis comes the Blues’ toughest challenge yet. So far in the competition, Maresca has been able to rotate heavily and give the fringe players and academy stars minutes on the pitch.
However, the Italian may revert back to his strongest team tonight as Chelsea bid to become the first club ever to win the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League. With all of this being said, Bobby Vincent does his best at reading Maresca’s mind in regards to the XI he will field in Wroclaw later on.
