‘Kate Middleton entitled to be upset over claims staff attempted to access medical records’

A probe into claims Kate’s confidentiality was breached while she was a patient in The London Clinic in January has been launched – and the Princess has every right to be upset

The Princess of Wales is entitled to be upset over claims that unauthorised staff at The London Clinic attempted to access her medical records.

Such a grotesque breach is a worry that recovering Kate should not have to face. The private hospital involved must complete its investigation swiftly then publish the findings because this is so serious voices will demanding the police be called in. We are all entitled to privacy on health matters and records must remain private unless the subject wishes to go public.

Prying or the leaking of details are nightmares for victims, which is why strict protocols are required in an era where so much data is stored with cloud services. As the picture we publish today shows, the Princess appears to be making a good recovery. Let us hope this apparent attempt to read her records doesn’t set her back.

Tories’ tricks

Extracting the truth from hapless Health Minister Andrea Leadsom was like pulling teeth.

But MPs eventually got there, with a damning admission that the Government’s dentistry plan is likely to be a painful flop. Leadsom conceded a claimed 2.5 million extra appointments are highly likely not to be 2.5 million. It begs the question why the Tories pretended they would be in the first place.

With the service in crisis and patients forced to pull their own teeth, misleading or downright dishonest spin adds insult to injury. The public deserves facts and action, not deceitful Tory propaganda.

Cheers, Ann

Still pulling pints and kicking out rowdy customers aged 82 in a boozer called Journey’s End, there’s certainly no end in sight for Ann Wilson’s working life.

As one of Britain’s oldest bar workers, Ann could have given Bet Lynch and Annie Walker a run for their money in the Rovers Return during Corrie’s heyday.
