The Princess Of Wales has been spotted out in public for the first time since her undisclosed abdominal surgery as she went on a quiet shopping trip to her favourite farm shop with husband Prince William

Kate Middleton has been spotted out and about for the first time since undergoing her abdominal surgery back in January.

The Princess Of Wales was spotted visiting her favourite farm shop on Saturday as she eases her way back into life in the spotlight following her lengthy recovery from the undisclosed operation. Kate was seen enjoying the outing just one mile from her home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

Onlookers told the Sun the Princess looked “happy, relaxed and healthy” as she took some time out to browse products in the shop. She had spent the morning prior to the visit watching her children George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, five, partaking in sporting activities alongside her husband Prince William.

An eyewitness at the farm shop in Windsor said: “After all the rumours that had been going round I was stunned to see them there. Kate was out shopping with William and she looked happy and she looked well. The kids weren’t with them but it’s such a good sign she was healthy enough to pop down to the shops.”

Kate has not taken part in any public duties since Christmas Day 2023 and it is expected that she will not return to official duties until after the children return to school following the Easter holidays on April 17. However, there has been some speculation that Kate may rejoin the family on Easter Sunday (March 31) for the traditional family walk to church in Windsor.

It is thought that the intense spotlight that surrounds the future Queen has led Kensington Palace to try and keep the progress of her recovery private. A close source reportedly told The Sunday Times: “There is almost nobody else in the world whose face, body, clothes are more judged than hers. So it’s entirely right for them not to want to be drawn into a game about what is going on with her health.

“What is happening is exactly what they said would happen – she would spend two weeks in hospital and be back after Easter. So what if they haven’t pushed her out there to wave from the back of a car? She is not a show pony.”

Kate was admitted to the London Clinic – the private hospital where King Charles III also underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate – for the planned abdominal surgery in January. She was discharged from the hospital on January 29, almost two weeks later, and returned to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

Details of the princess’s condition have not been revealed, but Kensington Palace previously said it was not cancer related, and that Kate wished her personal medical information to remain private. The Palace also said she was expected to return to royal duties after Easter.
