One of Kate and William’s bridesmaids is now a jewellery designer and passionate photographer who has lived in Paris and has been described as an ‘English Rose bombshell’

No one can forget the stunning moment when the Princess of Wales walked down the aisle, almost 13 years ago.

As Kate stunned in her gorgeous, lace Alexander McQueen gown, she was accompanied by her sister Pippa as well as a band of young bridesmaids – many of whom were getting their first taste of royal life. While being in the Royal Family means a life in the spotlight for senior members, many of them are not seen so often.

Wearing beautiful flower head crowns and sweet cream dresses on Kate and William’s wedding day were Lady Louise Windsor – the daughter of Prince Edward and Duchess Sophie as well as Eliza Lopes who is Queen Camilla’s granddaughter. Another bridesmaid included was Lady Margarita. She is the granddaughter of the late Princess Margaret.

Margarita is the daughter of the 2nd Earl of Snowdon, David Armstrong-Jones his ex-wife Serena Armstrong-Jones. She was just eight years old on the royal wedding day but fast-forward almost 13 years later she is now 21 years old. Her full name is Lady Margarita Elizabeth Rose Alleyne Armstrong-Jones. She was born at Portland Hospital in London and as of 2023, she is 27th in line to the throne.

She grew up at her family’s three homes: a flat in Chelsea, a cottage on the grounds of the Daylesford Estate in Gloucestershire, and the Château d’Autet in France. She has spent many Christmases at Sandringham House and summers at Balmoral Castle.

Last year she wowed people with her Tatler magazine cover where she was described as a “knockout” with “quiet charisma”. The “English Rose bombshell” also attended Tatler’s Little Black Book party where she wore a sequinned dress and fur stole – almost identical to an outfit worn by her late grandmother.

Margarita is creatively gifted and has a passion for life drawing, pottery, and watercolour painting. She began studying for a photography degree at Oxford Brookes University, but she decided to change her course in her second year to event management. Her decision came after the university moved its courses online due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

To continue her creative hobbies she began taking classes at a small art school in Oxford. In 2022, Margarita enrolled at La Haute École de Joaillerie in Paris to study jewellery design, stone setting, and wax carving.

Lady Margarita now has her own jewellery brand called Matita. She makes handmade pieces inspired by the natural world.

Although she dropped her photography course, Margarita still enjoys it as a hobby. The 21-year-old posts regular updates on her Instagram page – @atiraphotos – where she shares snaps from around the world.

Last year she was still in Paris, living a quiet life in Paris with her friends. It is unknown if she remains in the French capital.
