Law firm TLT has announced record results for the 2024-2025 financial year.

The Bristol-headquartered company, which also has offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast and London, reported revenues of £187m – a 7.5% increase on the year before.

The business said it had added £75m in revenue over four years and its “exceptional growth” was due to its investment in people and technology.

Over the year, the firm appointed 12 new partners and increased its overall headcount to more than 1,800 staff.

John Wood, managing partner, said: “Reaching £187m in revenue reflects the extraordinary commitment, talent and ambition of our people, and the trust our clients place in us every day.

“We continue to grow and make significant investments to deliver a long-term growth strategy, whilst also staying true to our values, whether that’s leading the way in future energy, driving innovation through technology or playing a central part in building a more inclusive and sustainable legal sector.”

During the period, TLT appointed 29 lawyers – including eight partners and 21 associates – to create a large future energy, infrastructure and planning practice.

The firm moved to one of the UK’s most sustainable office buildings – Eden in Salford – and marked a decade in the North West. It also doubled its footprint in Edinburgh by moving into a new state-of-the-art office in the city.

TLT was established in 2000 after two Bristol-based legal practices – Trumps and Lawrence Tucketts – combined.

This year it was recognised as a Top 50 Employer for Gender Equality by The Times, and has set a target for 50% female partners by 2029.

“As we look ahead, we remain focused on creating meaningful growth opportunities for our clients, whilst delivering a progressive workplace with a market-leading culture, underpinned by sustainability,” added Mr Wood.
